Christy moved here after graduating from East Carolina University for a summer and could never bring herself to leave. She has always worked in restaurants running the front of the house. Christy’s charismatic personality has given her the opportunity to
meet many locals and tourist that come back to see her on a regular basis.
The friendships she has made through the years is something she cherishes the most.
Chris has been visiting the Outer Banks since his childhood and had always wanted to be a permanent resident of the Island. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America he decided to move here and work in the amazing food and beverage industry here on Hatteras Island. He has been cooking for 20 years in many restaurants from Charleston, SC to Phoenix, AZ and finally here on the Island. Throughout the years of his career he has developed a diverse range of cuisines.
These components are all of what makes up their new venture Hatteras Sol Deli & Café. They love food and more so the affection of this wonderful community in Hatteras Village. The people who live here and the tourist they meet along the way is what make having a restaurant their most rewarding aspect. In their words “we plan on never leaving”.
